About the Role

Support customers operating in highly regulated, mission-critical industries by sourcing the industrial, electrical, and MRO (Maintenance, Repair, and Operations) materials they need to keep their operations running efficiently. As a Technical Buyer, you will manage urgent and project-based procurement requests, develop strong supplier partnerships, and identify opportunities to improve cost, quality, availability, and lead times. This role combines technical product knowledge, strategic sourcing, and relationship management to deliver exceptional service and optimize supply chain performance across a broad range of industrial and maintenance-related product categories.

Key Responsibilities

  • Source products and identify qualified vendors to fulfill operational and customer-driven needs
  • Assist internal teams with technical product inquiries and recommend suitable alternatives or solutions
  • Ensure prompt turnaround of requests to maintain high service levels
  • Negotiate pricing, terms, and delivery schedules with suppliers
  • Identify cost-reduction opportunities and enhance overall product offerings
  • Perform market research and spend analysis to improve supplier performance and reduce expenses
  • Build and maintain strong vendor relationships to ensure consistent quality and value
  • Collaborate with internal departments to support business growth and operational goals
  • Manage bid processes and participate in contract negotiations
  • Contribute to team initiatives and continuous improvement efforts
  • Develop expertise in product lines, industry trends, and competitive positioning

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Engineering, or a related discipline preferred
  • Previous experience in procurement, sourcing, or supply chain operations
  • Demonstrated experience with vendor evaluation and negotiation
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical capabilities
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, on-site environment
  • Solid organizational and administrative skills
  • Ability to understand technical product specifications
  • Strong negotiation and decision-making skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • ERP system experience is a plus
  • Self-motivated, adaptable, and strategic mindset
  • Strong team collaboration skills and ability to meet deadlines
  • Familiarity with industrial materials, MRO supplies, spare parts, electrical components, or related technical products is highly advantageous
